Parkhill
in Bloom
History:
Based on our previous positive experience with the
Communities
in Bloom competition we decided to keep the competition
within our own town. It was a lot of work to compete in
the province wide Communities in Bloom competition but it
also brought out the best in many of the gardens and gardeners. A lot of people enjoyed working towards a
certain goal or "judgment day".
After the amalgamation of Parkhill with the adjacent
townships to the Municipality of North Middlesex we
would have to compete in a different category in
Communities in Bloom. We did not think we would be able to
organize ourselves to compete on that level. However, we
sure can organize our own town and there we are - Parkhill
in Bloom - a new event was born.
